I don't want links on my website if I can help it. Yes, they are nice, but ultimately they take people away from the site and put their minds on other things. As a businesswoman, I can honestly say--Not my goal! However, I have more space on my server than I can use for myself. I would like to support other creative people who truly enjoy what they do and offer unique products that show their personalities. It's much easier for me--and potentially beneficial for you--if I'm wearing a necklace that I bought from you (for instance), and I'm able to say to an admirer, "Isn't it great? I have the woman who makes them on my website; she's got a lot more to choose from!" and hand her a card on the spot, instead of me telling her "Thank you, I'll see if I can find her phone number for you," only for both of us to forget.
I can provide my HTML experience to get photos, descriptions, and pricing for your offerings up on The Curious Crow (I'm no certified coding expert, and I don't know all the fancy modules or css and java scripting, but I've put together, and been responsible for, a few large-scope websites in my life, including two for a university). You will have links to the pages containing your creations on the lefthand frame of the site. In addition to your own space on The Curious Crow, you will be given your own thecuriouscrow email account. I have five email accounts that I can allot with my server, so I am opening The Curious Crow's door up to five creative people. I will not ask for money for you to be a part of The Curious Crow--I see my possible payment as more viewers and potential customers for my creations, via people you may direct to your creations (and vice versa!).
Now, here's the hard part for me. I will not be saying yes to everybody who may submit their creations. Doesn't mean they aren't great. Just means that I have a certain feel that I'd like to keep for my little virtual store, and it centers on what I envisioned for that stone and rusty tin building that I described on the main page. Obviously, I probably won't be accepting any dolls, unless they are so vastly different from mine that there would be no competition (since I'm not asking for money, I'd rather not take away from my own sales!). However, if you make jewelry, windchimes, clothing, candles, etc., lemme see!
Please send your photos, descriptions, price points, and a brief bio of yourself and your work to me at kalinda@thecuriouscrow.com If you think I may not immediately see how your creations fit within The Curious Crow without a reason, feel free to include that! I look forward to the possibility of growing my store with you!
