The faeries below have been sold, but they give you an idea of what I have done and can do for your customized creation (bearing in mind that a custom doll based off one below may look similar, but will not be the same).

PLEASE NOTE: RavenCrow dolls are not intended for small children or for play purposes. They have small parts and features (hair and wings, for instance) that can be damaged by rough handling.

Airin--Custom faerie. And I've saved the best for the last of 2008...the one for my daughter. Poor thing always watches as the faeries get made and leave, lamenting each one and patiently waiting her turn, so THIS time I decided to surprise her. When I finished "Taylor," "Ashleigh," and Alexis," I did this huge sigh of relief in front of her that I was done for the year (just a little set up). The next day when she got home, I told her she wouldn't believe it, but I'd gotten another order, and I added that this person was letting me have full reign on hair, eyes, and colors, but I was too tired from looking at the other dolls that I'd just finished to pick things out myself. Off we trudged to my sewing room, where she chose all the colors and let me know that she'd be really jealous of the person getting this doll when it was done. "Airin" will be waiting for my girl on the tree on Christmas Day. Gwen--Custom order faerie. Talk about nerves...this one was made for my college mentor as a gift for one of her loved ones. Green-eyed Gwen represents a woman who loves to garden and be in nature, hence the browns and greens (her hair is even a color called "Earth"! What isn't in this picture is the handmade sunflower wand that I made for Gwen, which was painted in mustard yellow, dark brown, copper, and a stem of medium green (should have taken a picture before I packed her up to ship). 4mm buttons joint her elbows and knees; she is also jointed at her shoulders and hips.

Eos-- Custom order faerie. Requested to be golden and etheral, Eos is named for the Greek goddess who symbolizes dawn and new beginnings--and she is, indeed, the brightest fae I've ever created...almost luminescent--Eos was ordered by a lady starting out on an exciting venture of a new shop--The Crooked Corner in Leicester, UK (web link to come when her website is up) and a new beginning of her own. Elizabeth Hope--Custom order faerie. This one is the first ever made in Pennsylvania, and she's very symbolic for me. Elizabeth Hope was made for a dear person who has become a friend and source of (drumroll) hope (a little ray of sunshine through many dark clouds that my family went through during our move and transition across country). Elizabeth Hope has a dress design that I've never done--organza gathered in four places, and secured with antiqued gold leaves (a symbol of what we came to PA for). The top layer of her dress is the silver grey, but peaking out from the gathers is an under-layer of gold. The purchaser is a natural perfume designer who loves opals and wanted to incorporate the essence of the swirling colors of an opal. Although a joy, this one pushed me out of my box when it came to clothing. The fabric lit like a Christmas tree (I burn my fabrics...this time I also burned my pants), so I had to create a dress fit for a regal faerie. Opal's dress is irridescent white, as is the strap on her dress. Her feet are wrapped with the same fabric, as is her hair, with a swirl button attached to the tie. 4 mm buttons joint elbows and knees. Also jointed at hips and shoulders.

Wren--Custom order faerie. This was a FUN one to make! Wren was a custom order for a beloved mom who loves Ren Faire, purple, and CROWS. How could I not want to make a faerie for someone after my own heart! Wren has silver-grey hair and green-hazel eyes (as requested to match the mom). The Goth Faerie--inspired by the black satin star and moon printed fabric I found and couldn't resist at Halloween-time. Leslie--a twin of Catherine, made for a friend who is emassing quite a collection of RavenCrow Creations, including the last doll of '06 and the first doll of '07. As is my promise, no two dolls are alike, no matter how "twin" they are requested to be (besides, the hand-drawing of the face and wings makes that an impossiblity), so Leslie's organza and ribbons of pink and purple are reversed of Catherine (with a little more daring neckline); her wand is a silver shaft and purple star with an overlay of opal glitter and a thin pink ribbon spiraled around. 4mm black buttons joint her elbows and knees; she is also jointed at her shoulders and hips. *pixelization due to this doll being photoed with my cell phone (I don't let any of them go without a pic, and hubby and the camera. Catherine--Custom order faerie. Made for a girl who loves purple and pink, this faerie is the closest to a faerie princess I've gotten. Her hair is light brown; eyes are brown/green, and her clothing is bubble pink and lavender. Catherine holds a silver, purple, and pink star wand. This girl has baby pink, glittery hair, and she is my first short haired doll ever. In her hair are blue wire coils that compliment the blue design in her clothes. In the spirit of never creating two dolls to be the same, this Cyrene has a tattered skirt with a gold-toned leaf strand hanging from her waistband. Robin and Robin's Twin-- Custom order faeries. The buyer of these dolls fell in love with Cyrene's closed eyes and the purple hair of Morgan Le Fae. Along with those requests, she allowed me to experiment with coloring the dolls' body and face fabric with coffee. Raeven-- My first human! Custom order based on the computer illustration (in photo, next to doll) of the purchaser's neice. This one was fun and at times challenging.
