Skrumgly Dolls are the Yin to the Faerie and Mermaid Yang--the side of my personality that doesn't always want to be pretty or structured.

NEW--Skrumgly Lite Collection--All the attitude, in a smaller package. This bat is one of three in this line so far.

in the works..."PATIENCE"--Feeling that it's been much too long since I posted a Skrumgly--a project that I HAVE NOT abandoned (the faerie orders just kind of keep pushing them back)--I thought I'd post an "in-the-works" offering. This is Patience, a doll started when my little family was in transition housing for THREE LONG MONTHS after our cross-country moving adventure, as we waited for our house in California to sell (no small feat). Patience is how I felt--red eyed, mouth stitched tight, with an attempted smile, crazy-knit eyebrows, and my head held on by a thread. Patience obviously needs her clothes--I'm thinking it will be a straight-jacket, in all honesty--and her hair needs styling into two ponytails. Finished result to come, but here's a peek!

Gourdo the Skrumgly...(wink, Molly!)--Based on one of my drawings, Gourdo was absolute bliss for this former-Goth-girl to make. He reeks of attitude, but I think he secretly likes hugs. His shirt is burlap, and his pants are olive drab cordouroy. Three jingle bells are asymmetrically positioned on his pulled felt collar, rafia juts out of his sleeves, and root feet emerge from his tight pants. Hand stitched accents adorn him from head to toe.

The Drawing Board--These are next to come: My interpretation of The Grinch, sNOman, and Ellen (1/2 of the Edgar and Ellen pair). Stay tuned!.
